Alex has worked for more than a decade at the highest levels of the Federal Government. He has served as Chief of Staff to the Leader of the Opposition, Chief of Staff to the Minister for Defence and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister for Home Affairs.

Alex has a sophisticated understanding of government budgetary processes, procurement rules and decision-making architecture. He is experienced in managing complex public policy issues and has a demonstrated ability to work with a large range of political stakeholders to achieve key outcomes.  

Alex completed his MBA at the University of Queensland and prior to entering Government practised as a solicitor at MinterEllison providing commercial, legal and regulatory advice in the energy sector.
